The Aberdeen steam trawler Aberdeenshire ran aground between Craig Snow and Dundonnie, 1 mile south of Boddam on the 21st October 1910, her crew of nine were rescued by LSA.

The wreck of the Aberdeenshire is well broken up and has possibly been salvaged from the shore, there are some large steel sections, an intact trawl winch complete with wire and the boiler lying on its side. Depth is 12m in the north end of the channel between Dundonnie and Craig Snow. The distribution of the wreckage shows that she eventually settled pointing north - the propshaft and engine are to the south, with the boiler in the middle and trawl winch (which would have been mounted just in front of wheelhouse) to the north.
Can only be dived by boat, launch at Boddam 1 mile to the north or from Peterhead. Needs settled conditions for reasonable visibility, but can be up to 5m. No currents, and the site can be quite sheltered when other areas on the East Coast may seem marginal.
